354th EFS A-10Cs caught at Lajes enroute Afghanistan (Part two)

By Joachim Jacob, Warthog News Editor

At Lajes Field, Azores, Warthog News contributor João Toste from Portugal had the opportunity to take the following incredible shot of A-10Cs which are combat-deployed now for Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) to the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, with the 354th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron (354th EFS). João shared this photo on airliners.net on October 10.

What an awesome view: Twelve of the eighteen 354th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron A-10Cs during stopover at Lajes enroute Afghanistan. As already reported, the "Bulldogs" deployed with three flights of six aircraft each. Visible in the foreground is TREND31 Flight with A-10Cs 79-0167, 82-0662, 79-0198, 78-0670, 81-0997 and 78-0706 (from right). Full size

Note: The second row in the background, with A-10C 80-0147 at right, should be TREND51 Flight.

Please note: This unique photo must become part of the A-10 Thunderbolt II history books! More related info will be posted soon.
