8/18/2011 - An A-10 Thunderbolt II from the 81st Fighter Squadron, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, prepares to take off from RAF Lakenheath, Aug. 17, 2011. The A-10s were at RAF Lakenheath in support of a U.K.-led exercise. The A-10 is a highly accurate weapons-delivery platform and has excellent maneuverability at low air speeds and altitude.
