Moody prepares for Community Appreciation Day Nov. 13

9/10/2010 - MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The Moody Community Appreciation Day Air Show is scheduled for Nov.13. The event is free and open to the public.

The base will open the entrance gates at 9 a.m. and the airshow will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Military performers and demonstrations at the airshow include the A-10 Thunderbolt II, HH-60G Pave Hawk, HC-130P/N King, A-10 East Demonstration Team, C-17 Globemaster, B-1 Lancer and the CV-22 Osprey.

The static displays scheduled for display are the AH-1 Cobra, CV-22 Osprey, KC-135 Stratotanker, C-17 Globemaster III, F-15E Strike Eagle, T-34 Mentor, TH-57 Sea Ranger, P-40 Warhawk, F-16 Fighting Falcon, P-3 Orion, F-105 Thunderchief, T-38 Talon, T-6 Texan and HC-130P/N King.

Due to limited parking, carpooling is highly encouraged.

Items prohibited from entering the airshow include, but are not limited to the following:
- Pets, with the exception of working dogs
- Guns, this also applies to off-duty law enforcement officers who are not working during the airshow
- Knives greater than three inches
- Fireworks and other explosive devices
- Large containers, including backpacks and coolers (exceptions: purses, baby bags, medical bags)

Additionally, all items carried into the air show are subject to search. This is not an all inclusive list and some items may be restricted on the day of the air show based on certain circumstances.

All vehicles are subject to search. On scene local authorities will handle any illegal substances found during searches.

Those who do not consent to the vehicle search will be escorted off the installation and not allowed entry to the airshow.
