Three more 23rd Fighter Wing A-10Cs caught at Lajes Field enroute to CONUS

By Joachim Jacob

As Portuguese Warthog News contributor André Inácio reported, this afternoon (5:10 PM, local time) three more 23rd Fighter Wing A-10Cs (78-0598, 79-0157 and 79-0172) and supporting tanker KC-10 84-0192 arrived at Lajes Field, Azores, from Bagram AB, Afghanistan, enroute to Continental United States (CONUS).

A-10C 79-0172 was deployed with the original 75th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron aircraft package, the two others were replacements.

Looks to me they are the very last Hogs which are returning from Bagram AB to Moody AFB, Georgia.

During the next couple of days I will re-check all known aircraft info of this OEF deployment to compile a serial number list.
