Northrop Grumman Awarded A-10 Thunderbolt II Total Life-Cycle Program Support Contract

HERNDON, Va., June 12, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) is one of three contractors selected by the U.S. Air Force to provide weapon system sustainment for the A-10 Thunderbolt II. The company will support both A-10As and Cs under the 10-year Thunderbolt Life-cycle Program Support (TLPS) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. The contract has a total ceiling value of $1.6 billion collectively.

Northrop Grumman Technical Services will manage the program from Clearfield, Utah, and capitalize on its tremendous reach-back to the broader Northrop Grumman enterprise. Work will also be performed at Warner Robins, Ga., Bethpage, N.Y., El Segundo, Calif., and Rolling Meadows, Ill.

Northrop Grumman's team includes subcontractors BAE Systems Control Inc., Johnson City, N.Y.; Engineering and Software System Solutions (ES3), San Diego; Pi-Tech Inc., Macon, Ga.; and Wyle Laboratories Inc., Lexington Park, Md.
